George – Pet of the Month – March 2015

George is an 11 year old, beagle/basenji mix. He ended up in the Carson shelter when his previous owner of 5 years lost his home. Through a beagle loving Facebook group he was pulled just hours before he was scheduled to be put down.

George’s favorite thing is FETCH! He loves to run and chase balls and frisbees. He has no idea how old he is and can run and play for hours. He behaves very puppy-like overall. He knows the command “go to bed”, learning “sit” and “stay”! George is good with cats and dog selective. He does not seem to like unneutered male dogs (but who does?). He can be possessive of his fetch toy with other dogs, but has allowed a 2 year old little girl to play fetch with him, without grabbing for the ball at all! He is also a good guard dog and will bark when anyone unusual is around the house. Other than that he is very quiet, polite and is potty trained.

Overall, George is a happy, super playful guy who would love an active family with a big yard to run around with during the day, then snuggle on the couch with in the evening! Is that you?
