LILLY – Sometimes You Just Can’t Plan for Things

LILLY - Sometimes You Just Can’t Plan for Things

LillyNo matter how much you plan for life, it will never go as you expect. Whether it’s rain during a June wedding or a heatwave in the middle of a winter vacation, sometimes you just can’t plan for things. You have 2 choices when things like this happen, you can curse the wind or you can roll with it and adjust.

As most of you know by now, I have another mange case. Her name is Lilly. Actually, I’m dealing with two (her brother Sully) but Lilly is much worse. Like “Kurtis worse”. I had not planned on fostering either one of them. Clarabella was my next foster along with the 9 puppies. Lilly and Sully are not supposed to be here. They weren’t in my “plans” but just like rain the day after you wash your car, there are some things you just can’t prepare for.

You see, Priceless Pets, was contacted to offer medical assistance to both dogs and we will be doing exactly that. It’s almost by default that any mange case will come to my house and until further notice; Lilly and Sully will make my place their home. And so will Clarabella and the 9 puppies. Let’s not forget I have Penny, Elvis and Wally that need their daily routine.

lilly_bl_2Yes, I have a lot on my plate. Yes, I’m not sleeping very much. Yes, my dizzy spells are getting worse but outside of my immediate family, nothing is more important than these dogs. There is no one dog in my house that needs “more attention” than the others. Clarabella is suffering the after effects of extreme flea allergies and is very insecure and show signs of abuse. I have 9 puppies that just finished nursing and are looking to me for everything these days. While Sully is being treated for mange, it’s Lilly whose life is in danger. She needs the most medical care. I’ve seen this happen with Kurtis and it goes from bad to worse before you can even blink an eye. Lilly’s road to recovery is going to be very long and I will be there every step of the way with her without losing sight of the others in my house. This is my path. I didn’t “plan” any of this. I didn’t “plan” to get Penny Lane but this is my path. This is what life has presented to me and instead of running away from it; I accept it 100%, no matter what obstacles I may face along the way. It’s all worth it. This is what Priceless Pets is all about and I’m so happy to be part of this team.

So just so you know what I’m working with here…

I need to make sure Lilly never gets as bad as Kurtis. I need to make sure Sully doesn’t get as bad as Lilly. I need Clarabella to heal up and realize not all humans will abuse her. My 9 foster puppies need everything and Penny, Elvis, and Wally need to go out, walk, play fetch and not miss a beat in their daily routine. I may not have the whole world in my hands but I definitely have theirs and I refuse to fail them. THAT is definitely not in my plan.

So please send your prayers, good vibes or whatever it is you do to Lilly and the rest of my fosters. They didn’t ask for any of this. And while I hate asking for things, but Lilly will need donations for her medical care. If you would like to donate, you can donate at www.pricelesspetrescue.org . Every dollar counts and I will continue to share my journey with Lilly and the rest of the fosters over here!

  1. You are amazing. Lilly looks beautiful already and as days pass, she will shine her light. The rest of your fosters and you pack look great as well, I know they will all be good in no time. Sending my prayers to Lilly and Sully.

  2. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

  3. Well said. You are an angel to your dogs and all dogs that cross your path. The pictures showing poor Lilly’s skin are heartbreaking, but only for a second because I know that she is well on her way to recovering ever since she stepped paw into your life. Thank you for taking care of her….and all your fosters and OF COURSE Penny Lane and Elvis (who I have to say is so darn handsome!). Emailed Priceless Pets about sending a donation directly to them to help with Lilly’s care…just waiting to hear back.
